Icy conditions in Western Michigan Friday led to several accidents and three deaths.
A man died Friday morning after the car he was driving collided with a snowplow in Van Buren County. According to reports, the 20-year-old man was driving on M-51 near Eagle Lake Road just after 6 a.m. when he slid into the path of a southbound MDOT snow plow.
The driver was alone in the vehicle and officials said he lost control on the slippery road and was wearing his seatbelt when the crash occurred. He was unresponsive and not breathing when emergency crews arrived. They transported him to a hospital in Paw Paw where he was pronounced dead.
